Dear Art Lover,

I look forward very much tonight to attending artist Gary Faigin’s opening at Harris Harvey Gallery, 6-8pm.  If you are in town (Seattle) I hope to see you there!  Gary is a longtime mentor, friend, master artist, published author, and wonderful teacher.  In addition to all these hats, he co-founded Gage Academy of Art in Seattle with his wife Pamela Belyea, the school to which I owe the initial direction in my art practice, and so, so many years of expert guidance and instruction in observational and imaginative fine art.  If you are in Seattle, join me and several others to celebrate his latest solo show opening.

Yesterday I continued work on one of the 30 x 42” cherry blossom works, but was not able to complete it in the hour of time I had to paint before other commitments.  With the weather continuing to warm, the blossoms are all but fallen, and the new leaves are coming in.  What this means for me is my rosy wash is rapidly being replaced by chromatic, light warm green.  No bother!  I look forward to painting again tomorrow or when I can, to finish this piece, the seventh and likely final of the cherry blossom paintings for this year.  As a gentle reminder for anyone interested specifically in the blossom paintings, they are popular - they all eventually sell out, every year.
