My mentor and master teacher Anthony J Ryder is offering a portrait drawing workshop at Gage Academy of Art in Seattle, December 4-8, and there is still room in the class for more!

If you are at all curious about making your own artwork, drawing, developing a new skill or refining your technique and vision - you could do worse than to work with Tony.  Tony is the kindest, most thoughtful, most insightful artist I have ever worked with.  I started learning from him while still in high school, also at Gage, at the recommendation of other artists who recognized and learned from his brilliance.  His book, The Artist’s Complete Guide to Figure Drawing, was life-changing for me.

If you are a student of the arts, or want to seize this incredible opportunity, do not hesitate to sign up for Tony’s workshop.  Tony is only here in Seattle a few times a year, as he is busy running his atelier school in Santa Fe with his wife Celeste, The Ryder Studio.  So strongly do I believe in Tony’s teachings that I spent six months in Santa Fe learning from him, mostly being introduced to oil painting, a new medium for me at the time, an experience which would fundamentally change my art and my vision for the better.  Before working with Tony, I don’t know that I ever really saw in color, in an optical way.
