Dear Lovers of Art, I’m sure you’re getting plenty of emails today asking you to buy stuff. I know I am! And hey, this email can definitely be that, but mostly I bring good news. Recently I’ve finished a second mockup of my Optical Book adaptation of Irish/Greek author Lafcadio Hearn’s “The Dream Of A Summer Day”, the author’s haunting re-telling of the classic Japanese folk tale of Urashima Tarō, the fisher-boy who was seduced by the Daughter of the Dragon King of the Sea, over a thousand years ago. For the third draft, I’ve moved forward into the publishing world (real publishing not self-publishing!), and heard back very encouraging news so far… it’s happening. Although I’ve shared the hardcopy already with some of you, as a Holiday Gift, here is the entire PDF Mockup Two, along with the original text, at this link, for free. I highly recommend viewing this in “Preview”, and clicking the “View” drop-down, selecting, “2 pages” or typing the command key and 3 at the same time, on a Mac. That way you get the full effect of the spreads. If you’re curious about this and other projects, I’ve been keeping a pretty active blog since late summer. That blog has my latest, most current work before I can do the proper work of adding it into my website, or listing it as available. It’s been my answer to “if not social media, then what?” After deleting my SM accounts at the end of summer 2020.
