I’d never been to Bryce Canyon before - thank you to my friend Abel for insisting I go. Bryce is only about an hour from Escalante, and with my work for the festival done, I could afford the day to sightsee. I brought my painting stuff, and knew I had to paint Bryce, or at least try. After painting, I hiked down into the canyon trail pictured, the Navajo Loop Trailhead. The many Chinese and French tourists chatted me up, including one conversation entirely in french, from the get-go, which was every bit as challenging as painting. I would love to return to Bryce with more time to paint, it would be worth its own trip.
