This painting was required for entry to the competition in Plein Air Easton - we had to make one “small work”, 6 x 8”, for the show. I don’t really work much at this scale, but I had made two “practice pieces” in Seattle earlier that summer to get used to working small. It was fun to make this - I’ve always been interested in the glow of power lines in bright sunlight - in the distance at the right angle they become highly reflective. I pulled over to the side of the road on the way to dinner to make this, the night before all work for the competition was due the next day.
