Original Figure Drawing, “Gloria Study II”, charcoal and ink on paper, 24 x 36”, 2020

This drawing of Seattle model Gloria combines ink and charcoal, at the time something I was experimenting with quite a bit.  At 24 x 36 inches, this large-scale drawing was made very quickly, a challenge to get as far as I could on this day working on short poses with the model, five to twenty minutes at most, with no pose repeated.  Some erasing can be seen, to lift the charcoal off the paper, as the first step of this piece was to tone the whole paper down with charcoal.
