Original Figure Drawing, “Gloria Study I”, charcoal on paper, 24 x 36”, 2020

I’ve made many drawings of this model, Gloria, but this may be my favorite attempt.  The gesture in her hand, forearm, torso was so fascinating, I began there, working outward.  At 24 x 36 inches, it is fairly large for a figure drawing, and was made very quickly, twenty minutes at most, during a pre-pandemic Open Studio session at Gage Academy of Art in Seattle.
