The sunrise from Westlake Avenue, coming up over Capitol Hill and Lake Union, has become one of my favorite and most-painted subjects, dozens of times now.  There were rowing crews coming by - I show one of the chase launches.  The glare of the sun felt particularly hot, warm, and brilliant, and the nearby colors of the hills and the yachts and the water show their pastel counterbalances.
