Original Plein Air Watercolor Painting, “Plein Air, Kenmore, 4:30-6pm, 4.19.23”, Watercolor, 30 x 42”, 2023

This piece is less “flashy” than some of the other large-scale (30 x 42 inch) plein air watercolor paintings I’ve made, but it is one of my personal favorites.  Sometimes, while working, a painting will click, and each decision in color and form falls into place without undue strain.  I loved the light effect of the backlit trees, ringed in light on the far shoreline, as they became more and more difficult to see the closer I looked to the strong glare coming off the wind-stirred water.
