This painting is one of several that I’ve been able to make well before sunrise, almost at the first light of day, out of night, around a 5am start time.  If you think the violet hues are exaggerated, as is my impression even looking at this piece, I encourage you to wake up early enough on a clear day to see these colors for yourself - they can be intoxicating.
