The very next morning after the winery painting, “Plein Air, 6-8pm, Proletariat Winery, 10.4.24”, we were back to do the “quick draw” two-hour painting event. I chose to depict the reflections on the door of the frame store and host organization Finer Frames, because I enjoyed the overlapping realities with the interior scene. The dog, Rebel, moved almost as soon as I started, so I had to call on some of my memories of dogs and inferences to allow him to look at least somewhat like himself. He lays down while his owner above him, one of the festival artists, paints.
