The first 48 hours of Plein Air Eagle were intense, including this two-hour evening painting at a winery, to start things off. I’d never really approached a scene this complicated before with this many (moving) figures, but I believed I could try and see what would happen, as long as I kept paying attention to the overall effects of the light. Some figures came and went as I worked, but nonthing hinged on them being static. The ones who did remain for longer time periods are slightly more resolved, as I had time to take them in and paint their subtleties.
