This painting, from 8:40am to 10:30am, was actually the second painting I made that morning, one of four total plein air paintings I’d make that day, at the time, a record for me. The first painting sold during the event, a view of a cornfield, the sun rising behind it. This piece I’d begun the initial background wash on the same morning I’d painted "Plein Air, 7:50-9:40am, Easton Point, 7.16.24”, and it is of the almost exact same view, different spot in the parking lot, and larger, 30 x 42” instead of 22 x 30”. Scott is in the middle, Antwan at lower right, both painting away. Similar to the rigging on the Ruark (“Plein Air, 6:15-7am, Sunrise Over Rebecca T. Ruark, Tilghman, MD, 7.15.24”), I wanted to pay special attention to the Maryland State flag in the lower left corner.
