Original Figure Drawing, “Gloria Study VII”, charcoal and ink on paper, 24 x 36”, 2020

This drawing was made from life, of the very well-known Seattle model Gloria.  Working as fast as possible in ink and charcoal, I was experimenting with a larger scale than is typical for me (24 x 36 inches) as well as combining media instead of going for just charcoal, just ink, or just graphite (pencil).  The effect of combining media in this way appeals to me, and I look forward to further experiments with the figure in various drawing and painting media.
