This is the second of three paintings made the same afternoon and evening (The other two are “Plein Air, 3-3:50pm, Cook’s Beach, 9.17.24” and “Plein Air, 7:10-8pm, Sunset by Gualala River, 9.17.24”). I was standing on the edge of a cliff, very exposed to the wind. I was concerned my board would fly away - I gripped it tightly as I worked.
