This is the third of three paintings made the same afternoon and evening (The other two are “Plein Air, 3-3:50pm, Cook’s Beach, 9.17.24” and “Plein Air, 5-6pm, Waves at Hearn Gulch, 9.17.24”). This is the last piece I made for Plein Air Gualala, the night before work was due the next day. It was a gorgeous sunset, then I went for dinner up the street. I was happy to be done with the event, and was looking forward to more painting of waves and the coast for the last days of the Mendocino Open Paint Out just up the road.
