25.  Original Plein Air Drawing, "Plein Air, La Jolla Pelicans 3, 8.18.24”, ink, 9 x 12”, 2024

Location: La Jolla, CA

For this drawing I wanted a single bird on the page, and tried my best at the time to get the outline of the wings correct. It was a pursuit surprising for its difficulty. Maybe I was feeling a bit of fatigue, the end of the summer leg of Art Tour 2024, the heat from standing out squinting at pelicans in the La Jolla August sun, and the extremely taxing task of trying to draw majestic birds in flight.
