As a fun aside to all the out-of-doors work and events, the organizers of Plein Air Easton hosted a costumed figure drawing / painting session indoors one afternoon. This model, a stage actor, was fascinating to observe and draw. He sipped his beer, trying to conceal it from the artists’ view (I was around on the far side of where most others had set up), his wedding band gleaming. His outfit, all-white was a fun challenge to draw in graphite. It was very fun for me to change it up from plein air watercolor painting, getting back to my roots which have always been long-format figure and portrait drawing in graphite.
