Original Watercolor Painting, “Plein Air, Water study from Gasworks, 5.3.23”, watercolor, 22 x 30”, 2023

This simple piece was made “en plein air”, French meaning “in the open air” or outside, from life.  I was standing on the shore at Gasworks Park, looking southeast to the houseboats on Lake Union, trying to paint some of the changing wave patterns.  Around me but unseen, geese grazed on the sun-bleached grass.
