Location: St. Catharine’s, Ontario, Canada

This drawing is the third of five pages of gull drawings, all made from life on the same day on a beach in Port Dalhousie, near St. Catharine’s, Ontario. In some ways it is one of my more successful drawings ever of gulls. These gulls were lean, curious, alert, and their slim bodies cast extremely dark but unpredictable shadows on the bumpy hot sand.
