Original Plein Air Watercolor Painting, “Plein Air, 7:30-8:10am, Westlake Pre and Post-Sunrise, 11.14.23”, Watercolor, 22 x 30”, 2023

This painting comes from a view I’ve often painted, Lake Union in Seattle as seen from the walking / bike path along Westlake Avenue.  A few rowers were going by as I worked.  The sun has risen, out of frame to the right, but the pre-sunrise atmosphere of violet and gold still lingers.
