Location: Seattle, WA
After a few days in Denver visiting my friend and artist Maxwell Forrest Roath, I flew to Seattle for most of June, making work in-between events #1 and #2 of Art Tour 2024, ArtX Flagstaff and Plein Air Easton. I grew up less than a block from this Fairview Ave pocket park in Seattle, and it is now a familiar summertime sight to see innumerable paddleboarders on Lake Union. I liked the image of these three girlfriends together on their paddleboards, just gently floating in the summer sunlight. The background is Queen Anne Hill, with the Westlake Ave marinas lining the water. I like to use just a simple ballpoint pen to sketch in my sketchbook, which I try to keep on me at all times.
